Most GMs experience it from time to time that their creative juices just run out. They just can't come up with a good idea for their next adventure. And that's when they have to search for outside inspiration. Well, the Arcana Wiki - as I have mentioned in my previous post - is all about providing that inspiration. It accumulates information on every conceivable topic (like the unholy spawn of the Wikipedia and the TV Tropes Wiki that it is), and allows users to add their own adventure ideas on the subject. It's growing quickly, with more and more volunteers signing up to expand it.

Now, using some newly available Wiki code, I've been expanding the possibilities of the Arcana Wiki with the Random Adventure Seed Generator. Basically, it selects three random wiki pages, and then encourages the user to construct an adventure around them. Four adventure seeds have been written up so far:

Revenge of the Cargo Cult

The Hunt for the Dreamers

The Fires of the Deep

Lost Hippies of the Catacombs

Try it out to see how it works - and while you are at it, why not add some adventure seeds of your own to the list? Future users of the Wiki will surely be grateful!

A similar project currently in the works is the Random Character Generator, which generates a random personality for an NPC which you can use in your campaigns. It's functional, but still in the early stages - as the page explains, more material from the TV Tropes Wiki needs to be ported over for it to become truly impressive.
