I played in a pre-release demo game of the new Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay last evening at Patriot Games in Huddersfield, UK. That the game's designers have moved away from RPG conventions was obvious from just looking at the gaming table as prepared for play. It looked just as though you're prepared to play a board game. Oathbound:Plains of Penance by Bastion Press for the d20 system was a great read, I loved the new player classes and monsters and really enjoyed the setting. The new species of Aurad and Tthords truly fascinated me, and one can even play an underwater adventure with a dolphin as a player character for the first time. It is a colorful and rich setting with intricate details paid to the cities histories on the Plains. Having not read the first corebook, I cannot accurately comapre it to its predecessor but it was also well-written.- Read more... Purchase Link:

This book is excellent, a complete setting for either a game set on Neiyat Island or as a side storyline where players are stranded on this island. The game has 5 PC races, including the matrilinear Neiyar who are devotees of the threefold goddess Sophia, the Krakodons who claim descent from Dragons and the Auronne, innocent bird-like creatures.- Read more... Nazi Zombies, what more can I say? THis RPG set in an alterate hisdtory 1939 is a creepy RPG, full of WWII intrigue and paranoia. This game uses the Iridium gaming system from HinterWelt. The writers really thought long and hard about the subject of WWII and did not get bogged down in preachiness and morality, and present the buyer with a solid game for those who enjoy intrigue based RPGs.- Read more...
