Designer's Corner, Articles/Columns
Publications are groups of articles and columns written by our RPGLife staff and our members. These publications are more comprehensive works focused on specific topics.
We invite you to read through and add to these existing publications as a member of RPGLife. Articles and columns written in Publications do get promoted to the front page of RPGLife.

Death and Rebirth during a Campaign |

Finally the stars are aligned. You have the will, you have the time, you have the ideas and maybe you even have somebody who will edit it[1]: you are going to publish your first roleplaying adventure. Even although it will be the first time you set everything on paper under a standard shape, you have experience as a Master: you have read and played modules and campaigns, and it’s clear what to do. Or is it? |

OK, we now have clear that the focus is on our peer-master: we are the light with which he'll lit the players' imagination and enjoyment, that he can move clearly towards certain scenes while ignoring others. We can be a torch, a lantern or a full lighting system, depending on our writing ability but also, in a great deal, depending on the time we devoted into thinking in our reader.
Ah, our reader, the Master... |
|||
Now things seem completely set and out of our creative control: we've made our best so the gamemaster will buy us, read us, enjoy us and play us. We appealed his attention (the fancy), his reading pleasure (the story) and his gaming pleasure (the dynamics and flow of interactive storytelling). What could possibly go wrong? Well, nothing. No, nothing, really. |

This is a new beginning and with it comes a whole new region to explore. - Read more... |
