Future Armada: Lakota
FUTURE ARMADA
Deluxe Starship Designs
LAKOTA
Armed Courier
“Lakota” is a Tomahawk-class courier ship owned and operated by a brother and sister team who employ three additional crew members. This class of ship was designed as a fast, multipurpose transport and it has seen considerable success since its launch a few years back. Many captains appreciate the armament, spacious cargo deck, and dedicated vehicle bay. The installed systems emphasize defense over offence, but the turrets and missile launcher can still be very effective in the hands of trained personnel.
At 195 feet long, the three-deck ship has a sizable hold suitable for either cargo or fighter craft. The main deck has an additional bay for a ground car or small fighter like the Stormcrow (a Sparrowhawk variant) currently carried. Lakota is an excellent ship for a group of up to seven whether they are hauling cargo, exploring beyond the civilized worlds, or running danagerous missions. Variant map pages (provided in color and black-and-white) can turn the cargo hold into a passenger deck or swap out some crew cabins for prisoner cells - just the thing for bounty hunting.
The .zip file contains the following:
- Overview
- 17 page PDF file detailing the ship, interior areas, and crew.
- Open Game License stats provided for the vessel and crew.
- Map Book
- Full-color 18 page PDF file containing complete interior maps.
- Includes miniature-scale maps for tactical combat.
- Broken into pages for easy printing.
- Printer friendly, black and white version of the map book.
- Miniature-scale composite map of the ship interior.
- A poster-sized, 24x36 inch, 150 dpi, color JPEG image.
- Art directory with rendered images of Lakota and the Stormcrow-class fighter.
Sample documents and bonus art are available at ki-ryn.com.
Like all of the Future Armada ships, Lakota is meant to be useful to game masters and players alike. Story, stats, and maps are all easily separated. Keep what you like & change what want, it's in your hands.

Bite of the Lindworm
Diseased corpses mark the feeding grounds of a strange and terrible beast. However, while the dragon-like beast is a terror all its own, the true horror is its fatal bite. The desperate victims of the terrible beast fear a fate far worse than being eaten alive, as their own bodies waste away, delivering them into a painful and slow death.
Bite of the Lindworm is a sidetrack adventure that is designed to be played within a 2 to 4 hour game session. It includes the plot, creature and item statistics (for use with the E-RPG system) and full color scale combat maps. While the statistics are designed for the E-RPG system, the story, maps, and elements are easily incorporated into any game system set in a Fantasy of Sci-Fi world.
Races of Obsidian Twilight: Lykian (PRPG) Preview
Abaddon Werewolf Lycanthropes, most commonly called Lykians, are one of the most unusual residents of the world. Unlike the standard lycanthrope, Lykians are born as lycanthropes and do not suffer from the lycanthropic disease but are considered to be a separate humanoid race with the shapechanger subtype. Before the apocalypse there were many that carried the curse of lycanthropy but due to unknown, powerful, magical forces, the curse has taken on a new form which the Lykians have evolved directly from. Lykians, unlike lycanthropes, have only one physical form, despite their shapechanger subtype. They are considered by many to be extremely bestial, hostile and brutish in nature - like their canine lineage. Their primal nature will often usurp and control their cognitive and reasoning abilities.

Wizard's Path I
WELCOME TO CHAPTER ONE OF WIZARD'S PATH!
The day was grey and threatening rain on the city of Mor Aldenn. The thought of rain did not worry young Cellian Varr, she had a spell in mind should the rain fall. As an apprentice of the Tower of Abjuration, the magic of protection, one of the first things she learned was how to create a magical umbrella. Even the wizards of Mor Aldenn were wise enough not to tamper with the weather, well, not much in any case. Still, it was not a bad day for shopping.
She started as she caught a pair of eyes looking at her but then laughed as it was just a mirror. Cellian patted her hair making sure that the combs were keeping it snugly in place. Her long hair was dark where her mother's was honey blond. Cellian tilted her head right and then left, comparing her features to those of her elven mother and wondering for the thousandth thousandth time what her father had looked like.
“I wish I had her fine features,” she lamented quietly. “At least my eyes are those of the elves.” She smiled sadly meeting her own violet eyes in the looking glass.
“Can I help you, young lady?” asked Kol Woodwright, the gnomish proprietor of the store, as he peered around a wardrobe.
“Just admiring the mirror,” she replied with a blush. “Perhaps when I am a master, I can afford it.”
“I cannot hold it that long,” the gnome smiled.
“There will be other mirrors.”
“As long as you purchase from me, young lady, I will be happy.”
She waved and headed on. “I will not forget, Master Woodwright.”
“Take care, young woman.” The gnome moved to polish the mirror. “And be careful, there have been a rash of accidents. Be wary for I fear there are some spirits of ill-fortune about.”
Cellian reached up to check the protective amulets around her neck. “Thank you, sir, I will be!”
This is chapter one of the Mor Aldenn online serial.... the illustrated and expanded pdf version. You can, of course, always just head on over to http://cityofmages.wordpress.com and read the first chapter, completely free of charge, or you can buy this pdf and get the following;
* A full-page illustration by Gary Dupuis
* Statistics of the four main characters
* A new spell called "Umbrella"
* A new monster called the Puppet Imp
Also, watch out for the next chapter coming out by the end of september!
